From waste product to Danish design

HE-VA rollers are recycled to produce baking steel and lamps

With more than 11 product categories each containing up to 8 products in several different working widths, HE-VA annually use many tonnes of steel. Avoiding waste completely is impossible and now these waste products have proven valuable for other industries.

From farm to fork

The knowledge of the origin of food - whether meat from animals or vegetables - is interesting. As a producer of farm machinery, we know all about the concept "From farm to fork" as farm machines contribute to the process of growing the crop that we eat and use in the food industry worldwide. However, we had never thought that our machines, or parts of them, could also contribute to the process of preparing the food for dinner. This changed, when a local company, Genvirk, in Denmark introduced the idea of using the waste product from our production of rollers for their production of baking steel.

The company specifically uses the waste product from our production of rollers for subsoilers and reverts them to baking steel approved for food that can be used in an oven, grill or on a fire.

From industrial production to modern design

The waste product from the production of the rollers is not only used for the baking steel. The company, Genvirk, is also trying out the idea of using it for lamps.

This lamp is still just a prototype, but it is a good example of ways to recycle a waste products from industrial production to modern design for private homes.
